The Law College is a Constituent Unit of Shri Shivaji Maratha Society, Pune, vide the Government of Maharashtra (Departments of Education). Notification No. NMV 2003 / Law /12 / 03M /S -3, Higher Education Maharashtra State & is approved by Bar Council of India & affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune university and Government of Maharashtra. Shri Shivaji Maratha Society was established in June, 1918 under the able guidance of his Highness Chhatrapati Shrimant Late Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur Sansthan.

AIMS & Objectives

The aim of the institution is to impart a sound moral, physical and intellectual training to boys and girls and help them to develop their individual personality so that they may turn out to be useful and responsible citizens of the country. The college aims at creating efficiency and self-confidence in students and offers them ample scope for self activity, growth and development.

Shri Shivaji Maratha Society has made rapid strides in education to keep pace with changing policies of Globalization and Privatization. The educational institutes under the umbrella of Shri Shivaji Maratha Society continuously strive to provide infrastructural facilities to the students while imparting high educational standards to have an edge in the Competitive World Market. Today, the society runs around 25 schools, colleges and hostels under its umbrella, where more than 20,000 students are pursuing their education right from Pre-Primary to Post - Graduate level.

As I assume the role of Principal of Shri Shivaji Maratha Society’s Law College, Pune, my vision is to strengthen an institution that not only imparts legal proficiency but also nurtures individuals who lead with integrity, courage, and compassion in an ever-evolving world.

Our guiding philosophy is rooted in the timeless Sanskrit wisdom: “धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः” — Justice protects those who protect it.

This principle is more than a maxim; it forms the foundation of legal education. It reminds every aspiring lawyer that the practice of law is a solemn commitment to uphold truth, fairness, and the dignity of every individual.
